The
Bexley
Group
A very
friendly
Group

The Bexley Marquetry Group was formed in 1972 by a few members from the West Kent Group living in Bexley and a small band of enthusiasts who responded to an advert in the local paper.

This small nucleus was well served by the West Kent members with Harold Cuthbertson as their Chairman. Numbers quickly grew and a standard of work developed which was much admired and continues to this day.

Membership has fluctuated in recent years but room is always found for newcomers who can rely on finding expert tuition at the meetings. Our Bexley Marquetry Group meetings are held on Fridays from 5.15 to 7.15pm at Hurst Road Community Centre, Hurst Road, Sidcup. Do please come along and see us, we would love to meet you.

The group enjoy practical evenings, practical demonstrations, talks and the occasional slide show plus a few social events during the year. Exhibitions are another feature, showing our efforts at events or libraries around the Borough.

The Bexley Marquetry Group is the Home Group of our previous President Ernie Maxey.
