Are you looking for a new Hobby? Do you like working with wood? If so, why not try MARQUETRY? The techniques are relatively simple and involve making pictures or decorating wooden items with exotic veneers. No expensive machinery, (producing mountains of wood shavings in a draughty shed or garage), is involved. Marquetry can be pursued in the comfort of your own sitting room and can be done by both men and women, with equal results. It does require patience and concentration, but if you enjoy listening to the radio, or music, and have time on your hands, you can combine the two. The results obtainable can be very rewarding (even for beginners) and the family especially will be proud of your hidden talents. If you are interested why not come and visit us on Thursday afternoons, to see what this hobby involves. We have all the necessary veneers and equipment to get you started. Membership is free of charge for a week or two, after this if you decide to join us there is an annual fee of £50 (plus 50p per week for tea/coffee and biscuits).
