The Redbridge Marquetry Group meets every WEDNESDAY throughout the year at Redbridge Social Centre, Rear of 188/190 Beehive Lane, Ilford, Essex. IG4 5EE
from 7. 00 - 9. 00 p.m
. The Redbridge Social Centre is close to the North Circular, A12, A127, and M25. The nearest Underground Station is Gants Hill.

The Group consists of approximately 50 men and women from the ages of 10 years up to 80+ (but age is not important) who wish to try their hand at this ancient craft. Previous experience is not necessary as expert tuition will be provided at all stages by resident instructors, from beginners to advanced standard.

There is a weekly fee of £2.50. This is only payable if you come. There is no termly charge.

All equipment is provided in the first instance but veneers, knives, cutting boards, abrasive papers, polishes and designs are available from our shop at very reasonable prices.

An annual Group competition is held and competitions with other Groups are held during the year. These competitions not only test our members' skills but are very enjoyable social evenings as well. We are affiliated to the Marquetry Society and members may wish to join that Society if they wish but such membership is not a condition of entry to our group. You can obtain further information about the Society from the Secretary at the Group Meeting.

If you have a couple of hours to spend on a Wednesday evening or are looking for a cheap hobby that takes less than a minute to get out and put away, why not come along to our weekly meeting and see what you can do. You could even make next years Christmas presents!!
