Winter in Town by Gordon Baker. A wonderfully atmospheric winter’s scene which really conveys the chill of winter in a very artistic way. The Harewood sky hits the right note perfectly; it looks laden with snow. This picture was up against Alan Townsend’s Siberian Reflections, which won the Rosebowl that year.

The Cat at Bay by Patrick Levins. Patrick’s work is much admired by our editor, and who can blame him for being enamoured by such work when the quality of the marquetry is so evident? Patrick would go on to winning the Rosebowl himself on more than one occasion.
