Down at the Docks

Down at the Docks – Peter Jarvis 2011

I just couldn’t help but keep coming back to this when I first saw it. It held a unique fascination for me and initially I couldn’t fathom why. But it’s the composition that works so well with the bus on the left and the building on the right holding the eye in, plus plenty more to study throughout. Excellent workmanship simply adds to everything else.

The Green Man

The Green Man – Peter Robinson 2011

I love the close crop and powerful look of this well worked piece by Peter. Full of very good cutting – just note the way the veneer radiates in the eyes and veneer choice is spot on. It fully conveys the symbolism that surrounds the enigmatic figure that is the Green Man.
