Welcome to page 6 of our Memory Lane feature where you will find lots more exhibits from
the early days of the marquetry movement and the formation of our Society.
This page features a unique marquetry themed glass paper weight that proved rather
popular back in the late "sixties and seventies". The Marquetry Society emblem was
visible through the transparent base together with a genuine veneer background.
A
red
felt under surface completed the paper weight.
A near pristine example has recently come to light, we hope it brings back
some pleasant memories for our longer serving members who saw these
first time round; - and hopefully helps to inspire those who have never seen these
wonderful paper weights before! Please do enjoy, thank you
